Welcome to My Own Two Hands

The once-a-month volunteer solution with groups in SF, Chicago and NYC.

What is MO2H?

Before cleaning up at Ocean Beach in SFShare

My Own Two Hands (or MO2H), is an informal network of friends, currently in three cities, working to give something back to the communities in which they live.  We do this by committing to volunteering one time per month with an existing non-profit or charity organization.  Because we always make sure to chose a volunteer event that is open to our large group, we end up with a big batch of old and new friends working, laughing and hanging out together.

.
In November of 2008, we invited our network of friends and family to become part of an informal volunteer posse committed to getting out once a month to do something positive in the community. The idea behind this group came out of our realization that our wonderful friends would jump at the chance to volunteer with worthwhile organizations if we could just uncover the opportunities. Since then, the founders and volunteer coordinators of My Own Two Hands have worked as hard as we can to find existing, non-political and non-religious, volunteer-reliant organizations that could use our help. To date, we have worked with dozens of great organizations to give back to the community.  What started as a group of less than ten in the Bay Area now involves monthly volunteer groups in three major cities.  My Own Two Hands makes it easy for people who want to give something back by arranging monthly volunteering opportunities with existing non-profits. We have huge groups with infectious enthusiasm in San Fran, Chi & NY. Would you like to get involved?
